Why do some songs feel like they already know you before you've even heard them all the way through? That's the question I keep coming back to, usually at 1am with my headphones in and some Ichiko Aoba or Japanese Breakfast playing on repeat while I convince myself I'm not overthinking things. Yoko Shimomura composed the music for Kingdom Hearts and I will absolutely bring that up unprompted. Snail Mail makes me feel understood in a way I find difficult to articulate, so I just send people the songs instead. I'm socially awkward in that specific way where I'm funny once you get past the initial weirdness, I promise.

I'm looking for something real — someone who likes the quiet moments as much as the fun ones, who won't mind if I quote a film at them and then immediately second-guess it.
